Strategic Objectives

Between 2010 and 2013 our objectives are:

1. To achieve and sustain high quality, effective and evidence based services within a culture of excellence and continuous improvement by:

  • Ensuring the development  and delivery of services that reduce the harm caused to children and families by drug and alcohol dependancy
  • Building strategic alliances that support the delivery of services that meet local and individual needs
  • Ensuring robust service user involvement is established in all services
  • Ensuring robust clinical governance across all services
  • Ensuring performance monitoring is improved and embedded throughout the organisation
  • Developing new services within existing resources to enhance the quality of the clients' Recovery journey
  • Ensuring services are proactively marketed to stakeholders

2. To develop a highly skilled and committed workforce that is well led and managed by:

  • Creating and developing organisational leadership capacity that is fit for the future
  • Ensuring that we have effective reward systems and mechanisms that support our organisational priorities
  • Increasing staff satisfaction with Bridge as an employer
  • Incresing minority representation in the workforce
  • Ensuring that staff sickness levels are below the national average
  • Improving intra staff communications and the involvement of staff in the analysis of critical business issues
  • Ensuring that front line practitioners have the cost effective tools and systems they require
  • Ensuring the provision of appropriate learning and development for all staff
  • Ensuring that equality of opportunity and diversity is at the core of the organisation
  • Ensuring there are effective systems for HRM
  • Developing a workforce that has the flexibility to meet the requirements of the organisation
  • Ensuring there is a clear framework and strategy for the role of volunteers, students and ex users as contributors to the workforce

3. To ensure a Recovery ethos throughout our services by:

  • Developing an organisational vision, mission and purpose that reflects a strong theme of Recovery
  • Developing Recovery based services

4. To build confidence with commissioners by:

  • Ensuring that Bridge has a lead role in developing local protocols, procedures and systems in improvements
  • Creating relationship management arrangements with commissioners that demonstrate critical self analysis, professionalism and added value
  • Ensuring Bridge are recognised as leaders and trend setters accross the district

5. To influence local, regional and national policy by:

  • Raising the profile of Bridge with key audiences
  • Contributing to the development of drug policy

6. To develop our evidence base and organisational learning by:

  • Developing an intranet
  • Developing a staff library
  • Ensuring there is a robust framework for evaluating services
  • Ensuring we have clear processes to collect, collate and update relevant market intelligence

7. To ensure that Bridge is sufficently resourced to enhance service provision and maintain long term viability by:

  • Ensuring there is sustainable growth
  • Improving strategic approaches to competative tendering for commissioned services and fund raising
  • Ensuring there is a robust strategy for the retention of business
  • Ensuring investment income is maximised
  • Ensuring that Bridge delivers value for money and remains competative within its market
  • Ensuring that all services are funded and are financially viable on an on-going basis
  • Ensruing that there is an appropriate level of reserves
  • Retaining funder's confidence in the financial management of the organisation
  • Ensuring Bridge meets all its statutory financial requirements
  • Improving and enhancing client and staff facilities
  • Ensuring all premises meet legal and contractual requirements and service provision needs

8. To ensure that Bridge has effective corporate governance by:

  • Ensuring that the membership of the Bridge Board of Trustees reflects the diversity of the local community and the skills mix for effective governance of the charity
